About The Role

Team Leader required to join the support team of a young man with a brain injury living with his family in the Dewsbury area.

The 34 hours will be worked across 3/4-day shifts per week on a rota basis including some Saturdays & occasional Sundays with a degree of flexible working to support the pursuit of interests in live music. Extra shifts will be available to cover holidays.

Contribute towards the planning and delivery of the individual care supporting in all aspects of daily living as our client has physical, sensory & cognitive disabilities and is wheelchair dependent.

Provide leadership and support to the client and his ‘Care Team’.

Provide supervision and coordinate the delivery of care.

Work with the treating team of therapists (SALT, Physiotherapist & Occupational Therapist) to complete therapy programmes, motivate & engage the client in recreational & educational activities.

Experience of delivering therapy programmes is desirable but full training will be provided.

Experience of working with young adults with physical & cognitive impairment is essential, the position is suited to someone who has a positive attitude plus the ability to motivate & engage.

A current driving license is essential with experience of driving a wheelchair accessible vehicle preferable but not essential as training will be provided.

About The Role

About The Role

The role includes 24 hour shifts including sleeping nights which are in addition to the hours stated above. This equates to 4 x 24 hour shifts per fortnight (including sleepovers). A rolling rota system is in place, therefore shift requirements are planned well in advance but can be swapped where required.

A support worker is required to join an existing, well established 24/7 team for a gentleman in his 70’s with an acquired brain injury in the Hexham area. The client has cognitive problems and some challenging behaviours following a road traffic accident, he requires 1;1 support and supervision at all times in his own home and the local community.

The care plan aims to maximise the client’s quality of life, by facilitating engagement in activities of daily living and providing reassurance and encouragement.

The role requires assistance with personal care tasks.

Applicants should be reliable, patient and have excellent communication and observational skills.

Previous experience working with clients with brain injury is preferable.

Driver with full UK driving license essential as the client has his own car for the team to take him out in.

Successful applicants will receive full support, training and supervision from the established support team and Case Manager.

About The Role

We are currently recruiting for a Female Support Worker to join a lovely team for a client in the Durham area.

The client is a lady in her 50s who had a brain injury a number of years ago. She is independently mobile and can communicate fully. She requires prompting and supervising with her personal care, making meals and day to day activities. The lady loves music, the theatre, jigsaws, puzzles, and movies.

The client has poor short-term memory and has some challenging behaviours. Any applicant needs to have patience and empathy. A background in ABI/support work is desirable but not essential.

Driver/full licence essential.

A rota is provided 1 month in advance and follows a regular pattern. Additional shifts will also be offered when covering holidays, sickness, training etc and for this reason sometimes additional shifts will be offered at short notice.

45p per mile travel allowance will be offered for shifts offered at short notice.

About The Role

We are currently recruiting for a Care Assistant to join a team for a lovely lady in the York area to maximise her independence following a road traffic accident in 2015.

She has a spinal cord injury resulting in Tetraplegia and at present has significant mobility problems. She is living in a village on the outskirts of York. The client enjoys cooking, baking and participating in a well-established exercise programme.

We believe this opportunity is commutable from – Leeds, York, Thirsk, Harrogate and all surrounding villages.

Applicants require an empathetic & dynamic approach, with the ability to promote independence. You will be required to engage with the client in home & community activities.

About The Role

We are currently recruiting for a Support Worker for a 15-year-old girl with an acquired brain injury from birth.

Our client has Cerebral Palsy and requires 1:1 support to provide care, guidance, encouragement, and supervision to maintain safety. Our client is a wheelchair user living in an adapted home.

A Support Worker is required with an empathetic & dynamic approach plus skills to support our client with personal care routines which includes assisting to wash and dress. Our client will also require support with homework, home leisure activities and accessing the community for social and leisure activities.

Hours available are for 3 – 4 hours x 3 days after school, 5 hours x 2 Saturdays per month plus additional daytime support 2 or 3 days during the school holidays.

£1 per hour enhancement available at weekends.

About The Role

We are recruiting for 2 support workers to work with a client who is 8 years of age who has epilepsy, global developmental delay, autism and adhd.

The client lives in the Leeds area.

The role will involve enabling the client to engage in rehabilitation, activities of daily living and recreational activities, and empowering him to be as independent as possible. The client requires complex support in his day to day needs..

We are seeking staff with excellent communication skills and a desire to provide individualised support. Previous care experience with children is preferred. Staff must be able to participate in a range of activities with the client. The role will require some flexibility but will be predominantly Monday – Sunday.

About The Role

We are recruiting to establish a team of female care assistants to support a teenage girl with Cerebral Palsy.  The client lives in the Sunderland area within her family home.

The role will involve providing support in school/college located in Newcastle and enabling the client to engage in rehabilitation, social and recreational activities.  The client enjoys swimming, going to live shows and shopping.

The support team’s role will be to empower the client to be as independent as possible.

The client is a wheelchair user and communicates via an electronic voice activated communication aid, she requires full moving and handling and all aspects of personal care.

Care and/or education experience with young people is desirable and applicants must be enthusiastic, energetic and have a good sense of humour. Applicants should have excellent communication skills and be computer literate.

Core hours will initially be predominantly Monday to Friday day-time shifts to support one to one in school. Flexible support will also be required to work on a two to one basis to meet the needs of the client, including school holidays, weekends and nights. The role will also involve supporting the client to go away on short breaks and family holidays.

The successful applicant will receive full training for this role, input from Therapists and regular supervision by the Case Manager.

About The Role

Support worker required to join an existing team providing 24/7 care and support to a 34 year old gentleman who resides in his own home with support. Our client was involved in a road traffic accident in 2005 and sustained an acquired brain injury and visual impairments.

Our client is physically independent however he does require regular prompts with regards to personal care and managing his behaviours. He follows a structured weekly rota to maintain his own home completing domestic tasks and staff encourage social activities/ social inclusion within the local community.

Applicants must have a supportive, empathetic nature but also have the ability to be assertive and manage challenging behaviours. The successful candidate will be required to promote the client’s independence whilst maintaining the client’s safety recognizing the importance of policies, procedures and risk assessments.

Previous experience working with Acquired Brain Injury clients preferred.
