CCMS supports many children with difficulties, specifically as they recover from an acquired or traumatic brain injury, spinal injury catastrophic injuries and associated disabilities. Their safety and happiness are always a priority for the case manager supporting them.
In light of this we are happy to support Child Safety Week which takes place 3 – 9 June 2024. The aim of this week is to reach as many families as possible with important safety advice.
Safety. Sorted.
The Child Accident and Prevention Trust’s annual education campaign has fantastic resources for parents and carers to ensure the safety of children. This year’s theme is ‘Safety. Sorted.’ It highlights the dangers posed by everyday things like batteries, blinds and nappy sacks. We recommend taking a lot at their website for small, easy-to-make changes to your every day family life.
Unfortunately, children do not only face harm from everyday things.
Another charity that focusses on young people facing abuse, exploitation, and neglect is the Children’s Society. They are a national charity working to transform the hopes and happiness of young people facing abuse, exploitation and neglect. I’ve had the honour to work alongside this charity and the work they do is fantastic!
In summary, it’s important to highlight weeks such as these, as we can all educate ourselves more on the different ways we can protect children.
